Dan Hasselman
Co-CEODan Hasselman became co-CEO of APWireless in December 2019. Formerly, Dan had been President of APWireless since 2011, in charge of both U.S. and international operations. Prior to that he was Managing Director of the business since co-founding it in 2010. Dan has more than 20 years of experience as an executive in the real estate and wireless infrastructure industries.
In May 2007, he co-founded Vertical Capital Group, LLC, which originated investments in telecommunications infrastructure assets on behalf of RFS Capital, LLC, for which he served as President until co-founding the APWireless business. Earlier in his career, Dan opened and managed an office for Wireless Capital Partners, LLC, then a leading U.S. telecom lease acquisitions firm. In 2001, he founded U.S. Home and Loan, Inc., a subsidiary of Windsor Capital Mortgage Corporation, then the 2nd largest mortgage brokerage firm in the United States. Dan played a pivotal role in transforming APWireless from a single start-up into a $3 billion company, establishing it as one of the world's leading cell site lease investment firms.
Scott Langeland
Co-CEOScott Langeland became co-CEO of APWireless in December 2019. Previously, Scott had been an Executive Vice President and senior counsel for APWireless, overseeing the legal and underwriting functions within the AP Wireless business, including leading the efforts to enter, and to formulate asset acquisition structures in, new jurisdictions.
Scott joined APWireless in October 2010 and significantly contributed to APWireless' growth from a startup to a $3 billion leader in the industry, driving key initiatives and fostering innovation. His legal experience covers areas such as structured finance, commercial real estate, and civil litigation. Scott is a Cum Laude graduate of Thomas Jefferson School of Law and holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
Andrew Wood
EVPAndy has more than 20 years of experience as a professional and executive in the real estate and wireless infrastructure industries. Prior to being appointed EVP of Operations at APWireless, he served as Managing Director at WIP. Previously, Andy co-founded and owned Vertical Capital Group, which originated investments in telecommunications infrastructure assets on behalf of RFS Capital. He started in the telecom industry by working on behalf of major carriers in the U.S. as a consultant for a leading telecommunications firm. With his background in real estate, mortgages and commercial leasing, he pioneered innovative acquisition strategies across the telecommunications industry. Andy has contributed to the transformation of APWireless from a single start-up into a $3 billion company. Andy has served on the board of directors for San Diego’s Gaslamp City Square. He earned his BA in Finance and Business Administration from San Diego State University.
Thomas Evans
EVP – North AtlanticThomas Evans joined APWireless in 2011 to expand the successful US business into the UK. Following the successful launch of the UK business, Thomas worked to launch APWireless Ireland and later other European businesses, including The Netherlands, Belgium and Hungary. Previously, he had spent more than 15 years in telecommunications site acquisition and estate management in the UK market. Before joining APWireless, Thomas’ experience included working for a leading UK site acquisition firm, as National Acquisition and Planning Manager. Earlier in his career, Thomas worked for a firm of Chartered Property Consultants advising landlords on telecommunication site estate management matters. Thomas has leveraged his expertise by taking an active role in Asset Management. His principal role today is managing and developing the APWireless Portfolio of over 8,000 leases on a global basis.
Guglielmo Noya
SVP – Latin AmericaGuglielmo joined APWireless in 2021 to expand the business in Latin America. Previously, he spent over 20 years in the telecom industry as a C-level executive in several subsidiaries of the Telecom Italia Group. He was CEO of Entel PCS in Chile, CEO of Telecom Personal in Argentina, C.O.O. and CFO of TIM Brasil, Group Head of M&A at Telecom Italia. Mr. Noya started his career as financial analyst at I.M.I., one of the leading investment banks in Italy. Guglielmo’s key competences are General Management, M&A and Business Development. He holds a cum laude M.S. in Mechanical Engineering at University of Rome “La Sapienza” and an MBA. Guglielmo’s principal role is managing and developing the Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico businesses and to open new markets in Latin America.
Susanne Kandel
General CounselSusanne Kandel is the General Counsel of the Company. Ms. Kandel previously served as General Counsel, Latin America and General Counsel, Europe for American Tower Corporation. From 2004-2013, Ms. Kandel was an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City where she represented tower companies, operators and telecommunications industry investors in transactions around the world. She holds a law degree from NYU School of Law and received an A.B. in Religion and Middle Eastern Languages and Literature from Dartmouth College.
Carlos Rodriguez
SVP of Global Regulatory & Public AffairsCarlos Rodriguez serves as Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory and Public Affairs. Carlos is responsible for shaping and executing the regulatory and public affairs strategy for the company, managing the company’s interactions with regulators and decisionmakers and leading our policy advocacy and public affairs efforts across the global APWireless footprint.
Prior to joining APWirless, Carlos developed a 25-year career in telecommunications and digital policy and regulation in Brussels and Washington DC with Telefónica, holding positions as Director for European Regulatory Affairs, Director for EU Affairs and Head of Brussels Office, among others. Carlos brings a comprehensive knowledge of the telecoms regulatory and policy making process, a large network among key institutions and stakeholders in Europe, the US and Latin America and a strong record designing and executing engagement strategies.
Carlo Ramella
SVP Business Development – EuropeCarlo Ramella serves as Senior Vice President, leading business development in Europe. Mr. Ramella has exceptional knowledge of traditional and digital infrastructure, serving as the liaison of strategic partnerships (M&A, operations, equity research, among others) between tower companies and telecommunication service providers. Previously, he held the role of Chief Operating Officer and Chairman in El Towers Group for more than 15 years, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategic direction and fostering key industry partnerships. Carlo’s previous background in corporate finance at HSBC Bank and auditing at Arthur Andersen, helped him achieve a comprehensive understanding of financial management and showcased his meticulous approach to financial oversight.
His education includes a Master's in Corporate Finance from SDA Bocconi and a previous Bachelor's in Business Administration from Università degli Studi di Bergamo.
Ed Bergstrom
SVP – North AmericaEdward has more than 21 years of experience in sales and sales management. Prior to being appointed Senior Vice President at APWireless, Edward was Vice President of Sales for the US market. Edward was a principal at a successful mortgage loan origination branch from December 2000 to June 2008, where he originated an average of over 30 transactions totaling more than $3 million per month in deal volume. He also founded E.W.B Financial, which offered a variety of finance products in September, 2005.
Eduardo Liuzzi
RVP Acquisition & Business Development – EuropeEduardo has over 10 years of experience in Business Management and Marketing. Before being appointed Vice President, Eduardo held the position of International Marketing Director at APW’s headquarters in San Diego, California, where he was responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of quality standards for the company’s marketing division in USA and abroad. Before joining APW, Eduardo spent 4 years at Grupo Abril with strategies for renewing and retaining customers. Eduardo obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication with an emphasis on Strategic Marketing from ESPM – Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing. In 2008, he specialized in Direct Marketing by ABEMD (Brazilian Association of Direct Marketing). In 2012 he was certified in Business Administration by the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).
Daniel Romagnolo
RVP Acquisition & Business Development – EuropeDaniel joined the company in 2018 and was appointed Regional Vice President of APWireless in November 2021. Prior to that appointment, Daniel held different roles in different departments of the company from overseeing the legal department of APWireless in various jurisdictions, to the general management of the Spanish subsidiary since 2019. Prior to joining the company, he worked for LI Abogados, the firm that advised APWireless since its landing in Spain. Daniel holds a degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Carlos III.
Eddie Joyce
RVP Acquisition & Business Development – EuropeEddie joined APWireless in 2013 having previously worked in property acquisition and development roles in the retail industry. Eddie also gained 9 years of telecoms experience in estates management, site acquisition, planning control and global rates valuations. Eddie’s current role sees him responsible for managing and developing the business in Ireland and Belgium.
Ronan Loughrey
RVP Acquisition & Business Development – EuropeRonan joined the telecoms site acquisition team at AP Wireless in 2017 to further enhance their operations in the country. Ronan, a native of Galway is now responsible for growing the portfolio of investments in Ireland, managing and developing a broad range of investment opportunities. Ronan takes great pride in the focus he places on each individual transaction and enjoys working with landlords across broad range of industries.
Giovanni Montalti
SVP Strategic PartnershipsGiovanni is a telecom industry expert, with 22+ years of experience across various roles in the telecom industry, in the equity markets and in advisory. As Senior Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Giovanni is responsible for managing and expanding our partnerships in the Telecom industry, with a particular focus on Telecom Service providers and TowerCos, while implementing strategies that drive substantial business demand. His experience in the telecommunication industry will help APWireless to position itself as a leading digital infrastructure partner.
Giovanni began his career at TIM, leading telecom company in Italy and Brazil, where he focused on business planning, new ventures valuation and M&A. Giovanni brings analytical skills and strong industrial and financial knowledge, coupled with regulatory and strategic expertise. As an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank, he acted as Lead Analyst, overseeing TowerCos IPOs and he covered European Telecoms, building strong relationships with telecom operators, towercos, institutional investors, regulators and industry trade groups.
Pablo Machuca
VP Mergers & AcquisitionsPablo Machuca serves as Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions at APWireless, showcasing over a decade of expertise in corporate development and strategy. Prior to joining APWireless, he spent the last six years as the head of corporate development and strategy at Telxius, the global digital telecommunications infrastructure operator owned by Telefonica and KKR. Before Telxius, Pablo spent three years in different finance, M&A and strategy roles at Telefonica Digital. Previously, he was Senior Consultant at PwC, focusing on the TMT industry.
Pablo holds a Double Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Law from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Additionally, he holds an Executive Diploma in Corporate Finance & Law from Esade Business School in Spain and a Master's in Business Consulting and Advisory Services from EOI Business School in Spain.
Mary Ann May
VP LegalMary Ann May joined APWireless as Vice President Legal in 2019. In this role, she brings over thirteen years of legal experience with an extensive background in commercial contracts, employment law, and commercial litigation services. Ms. May is responsible for overseeing and directing the company’s legal activities.
Prior to joining APWireless, she was a shareholder at Parr Brown Gee & Loveless, a prominent law firm in Salt Lake City, Utah. In this role, Ms. May was recognized as a “Rising Star” in the 2013-2019 editions of Mountain State Lawyers, given her skills in navigating complex legal issues and driving positive outcomes for her clients.
Mary Ann earned a Juris Doctor, Order of the Coif, from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law where she graduated with Highest Honors. She also received her Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Psychology from Utah State University. Other accomplishments include serving as a judicial law clerk for the Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court, a volunteer for the Rocky Mountain Innocence
Peter Thacker
VP LegalPeter Thacker brings more than 20 years of legal experience in his role as Vice President of Legal for the North Atlantic Region. Peter develops and implements the company's legal strategies, ensuring adherence to local laws and regulations, and establishing risk mitigation compliance programs.
Before joining APWireless, Peter played a crucial role at a leading London law firm, where he contributed his expertise in commercial property law. His ability to effectively navigate complex legal challenges has consistently led to favorable outcomes for clients and organizations alike.
Peter earned his Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Wales in 2001 and later completed the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University.
Verne Vetrulli
SVP Global Human ResourcesVerne Vetrulli brings more than 15 years of proven leadership and expertise in human resources with a niche in the telecommunications industry. Overseeing all aspects of human resources management Ms. Vetrulli establishes and develops Human Resources teams and infrastructure for global technology companies to effectively support rapid business growth. She also has extensive mergers and acquisitions integration experience. Ms. Vetrulli also oversees the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Steering Committee.
Chris Jager
VP ITChris has more than eight years of experience as an IT professional. Before being appointed VP of Technology, Chris fulfilled the role of Director of Information Systems at APWireless. In his role as VP of Technology, Chris is responsible for the global IT and IS infrastructure. Next to that he supports the E-Marketing initiatives for APWireless. Prior to his arrival in 2011, Chris worked at Royal Dutch Shell where he specialized in Supply Chain Management. He earned his B.S. in Computer Science and holds a M.S. in Information Science from the University of Twente.
Akin Gursel
VP Software EngineeringAkin Gursel has led the software engineering department at APWireless for over 12 years. He currently holds the role of Vice President of Software Engineering. Akin has proven his expertise in managing teams of software engineers, developing technical strategies and designing web applications and software solutions. Akin is deeply versed in Microsoft technologies, having led the development of cloud-based applications utilizing Microsoft Dynamics, Power Platform, and Azure. His expertise also encompasses GIS technologies and the deployment of CRM and ERP systems, along with mobile application design and implementation.
Akin earned his Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science from San Diego State University. He is an Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and holds certificates in Web Development and Mobile Applications Development.
Marlyn Garcia
VP MarketingMarlyn Garcia’s leadership in delivering marketing strategies allows the APWireless marketing team to achieve its goals. Marlyn joined APWireless with more than 20 years of experience impacting business results, handling organizational priorities, and delivering data-driven solutions for Fortune 500 brands. In previous roles, she oversaw marketing communication plans and served as corporate spokesperson to accomplish the business objectives for AT&T, DISH, Time Warner, Comcast, and Corporate Travel Management. As Vice President, Marketing, Marlyn’s oversight includes acquisition, digital, brand, CRM, and communications. She joins a diverse marketing team eager to shape the global reach of APWireless. Marlyn is a graduate of Pepperdine University, Loyola Chicago University, and Loyola Marymount University holding Doctorate, Master, and Bachelor degrees.

With more than 25 years of experience in underwriting and investment analysis, Esteban brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to his role. As VP of Underwriting, Esteban oversees the underwriting process for telecommunications infrastructure investment projects, leveraging his expertise to assess the financial viability, risks, and opportunities associated with potential investments. He leads a team of dedicated professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Under his leadership, the underwriting team conducts comprehensive financial analysis, evaluates risk factors, and develops investment strategies. Esteban attended San Diego State University granting him access to his beloved San Diego Padres.
Christian Carmody
SVP TowersChristian Carmody brings more than 20 years’ experience to his recent position as Vice President of Towers at Icon Tower. Christian previously served as Vice President and Director of Tower Operations at InSite Wireless Group, LLC for a decade. Prior to this, Christian served as Operations Manager at Optasite Towers, LLC overseeing tower site operations across multiple states, emphasizing due diligence and regulatory compliance. His experience at Andrew Corporation as a Project Manager, and before that, as Construction Manager at American Tower solidified his expertise in construction, revenue generation, and project oversight.
Before joining the towers industry, Christian pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design from the State University of New York.
Malek Bouteraa
VP Business Development – EuropeMalek Boutera is the Vice President of Business Development M&A, Europe at APWireless Infrastructure Partners, LLC, being an essential part of EQT Active Core Infrastructure, focusing mainly on digital infrastructure deals. With a diverse background in leadership roles at Infrashare and TASC Towers, Malek has contributed significantly to corporate development in the EMEA region and spearheaded digital transformation programs. Previously serving as CEO at LCC and with experience at Sofrecom, enhanced his deep understanding of wireless engineering services, network rollout, and business consulting.
He showed his dedication to strategic business operations by pursuing a Master's Degree in Strategic Business Unit Management from HEC Paris (2007-2009) and completed the Telecommunications Strategy & Marketing Programme at INSEAD in 2008.
Matt Lawson
VP Business Development – North AmericaMatt Lawson has been with APWireless since April 2012. He took over the role of business development in late 2020. Before taking over as the VP of business development Matt served in several different capacities for APWireless in the US, Australian, Canadian and Mexican markets. He has been involved with hundreds of cell site lease prepayments, tower construction projects and tower acquisition transactions across four continents. Matt takes great pride in the global footprint APWireless has created while maintaining the focus on each individual transaction. He is a native of San Diego and graduate of the University of California Berkeley. Matt is terrible at karaoke.
